The most powerful Romanian brand is the one who makes you keep your head up in the world. It’s Dacia. Here the success of our Romanian car.
There are great many nasty things for which we are ashamed to call us live in Romania and Romanian. But we must not forget those who are proud of what we have.
Dacia was born in 1966 in Pitesti, when it was called UAP – Pitesti Automobile Plant. But lack of funds and perhaps people with initiative, wanted plant production of cars under license, not to entirely new models. In an auction, UAP began making French car Renault 8 under license, the car would be called Dacia 1100. The first model out the door at the Pitesti plant in 1968 and was made ??a gift of Nicolae Ceausescu, then president.
Under the agreement, the plant in Pitesti factory hardly anything, just assemble parts coming from France Renault and Dacia 1100 so arise. So they came out the factory door not less than 44,000 copies of 1100 to 1969, when its manufacture began in 1300, licensed Renault model, the model 12. The latter has evolved in various forms, bodies and facelifturi until 2003, when Dacia 1300-1310 period has ended. Models followed Martins (before 1989), Liberta, Nova, Super Nova and Solenza.
Dacia Logan – perfect if early success to Logan, Dacia models were branded … To tell the truth, some waste, starting with this model, things began to change. In 2004, the first Logan streets of Romania, a cheap car, which enjoyed great success. That’s because the Dacia car marketed properly, being announced as 5,000 Euro car. Even so cost basic version and the top, with electric windows and air conditioning reached the Euro 7500.
Logan car started to be ordinary novel, promising a cheap maintenance and increased reliability. In addition, it was one of the most spacious cars in range. And with options pick-up van and launched MCV, Logan secured top position in sales in Romania.
A cheap and good car – it was seen and still is Logan. We Romans, look at the money, not to look at safety first or digital displays of the Climate. And those of Renault were able to anticipate this and have offered the right car at the right time. Logan left the main factory in Romania, where the minimum wage is much lower than in France, which contributed to maintaining a low price.
Sandero and Dacia Duster were hanging on the map auto world
Followed after baby Logan, Sandero, a cheap car to address a somewhat younger segment. A hatchback with the same engine as Logan, but with a more modern look. It was part of Logan’s success, but managed to cover a fairly wide segment: low budget hatchback. Sandero’s appearance in 2008 and the Duster in 2010 completely changed the image of Dacia in the world. Overnight, Dacia sold with great success throughout Europe, South America and even in Arab countries. World economic crisis was the best thing that could happen Romanian brand. People no longer look expensive cars, luxury, consuming more. Dacia knew how to take advantage of it and came up with a range of machines offer for all tastes, with Renault engines small economy. How can you refuse an offer like?
Let s say it right: Dacia has succeeded. A small price, economic engines, the minimum possible. For this he needed as many people affected by the global financial situation, so turned their attention to the Romanian models. We should not be mischievous and say that cars are a bad car or real bad, ugly or lazy. First, cars are a cheap car. If he was safe, fast, futuristic design, not cost what it costs now.
Although Dacia models are not only in Romania but also in Morocco, Russia, India and Brazil, and bearing the Dacia, Renault and Nissan should not be ashamed. It was born here, here, in Romania. And we must be proud for that.
Dacia 1300Dacia represents Romania, and thanks to her, Romania is now known worldwide. And it has big plans in the future, not only make us happy: 840,000 units sold by 2013, representing nearly one third of total sales of the entire car group Renault-Nissan-Dacia.
Passing over various superficial antipathy that has many people from Dacia, we must recognize that the local brand is a story of success. Dacia Bravo!
